A few more of Gulu

This is a view of the houses in Gulu. These particular homes were located right next to the runway across the street from the airfield. In addition to all the kids that came out to greet us, the place was just bustling with activity, with lots of people moving up and down the road to and from the market. You would see the local women coming back from shopping balancing these impossible loads up on their heads. I guess that is what you do in Uganda when you don't have the luxury of SUV's and a cart. I am hoping that on our return trip to Gulu I will be able to get some pictures of the kids playing with their new soccer balls that you all donated.

It is really nice to see how other people and cultures live. I am impressed that even there they have cable because I notice there are no TV satellites or antennas on the hooch roof. I hope they have more than one cable provider or they will get stuck with the higher premiums.

Every time I begin to think this box is going to leave my office for Africa...someone gives me more money to buy more soccer balls. We love the buy 2 get 1 free at Sport's Authority.
By the end of the month there will be a box of 15 with pumps and needles, tooth brushes and paste coming from SawHorse to you...
I will try to get a picture of the guys to send so you can put a few faces to your collectors!
Thanks for letting us join in your peaceful ventures of joy for the children.

I see by the counter that you (hopefully) only have a little over two months to go before you come home. With your airplane, I think I would start now if I expected to make in home in two months. Maybe this time you can at least break down in different places so we can (vicariously) see some different parts of the world.
